Since we were already out in Spring Branch for Lauren’s bridal session, I knew what to expect out of Lost Mission as a wedding venue. I expected everything. This oasis outside of San Antonio is huge. Which means a lot of lush property with plenty of spots for me to use as backdrops! So with me as a happy photographer, and all the girls getting dolled up with little wedding dress cookies, everyone was ready for a great day. Everyone was waiting to see the bride in her gorgeous gown, but nothing is better than a dad seeing his girl for the first time on the wedding day. I think I enjoy that more than the groom seeing a bride. A father has had his little girl for her whole life. It’s a surreal moment that starts her life as someone else’s girl. Safe to say I’m a daddy’s girl myself! Both families were so sweet and helpful, I was so happy we were able to get a few photos before the wedding began. The Mission’s chapel is a perfect place to say I do. With natural light pouring through the windows, and Canon in D drifting over the crowd, the wedding party made their way down the aisle to watch Lauren and Daniel promise forever. You really felt like you were in another time with the Spanish style architecture in the chapel. The new Mr. and Mrs. said their vows, had their kiss, and rang the Mission bell. It’s such a sweet part of the wedding. The sign in front of the bell reads “The Mission bell told me That we’d never part…” which makes for a great end to the ceremony. I got so excited when the mariachi band started playing to lead the guests down the winding road to the reception hall, it made it a bonus during portraits to be able to hear them playing. We wrapped up photos, and Lauren and Rich joined right in to an unofficial first dance outdoors in front of the mariachi. The draping that hung from the wood ceiling created a beautiful backdrop for the first dances. It makes me so happy the moment I realize there is a fantastic band that’s going to lead the way to a night of dancing. Austin Party Band was just that! They rocked the party and had the guests literally chanting for more. While the guests were dancing hard, I took the new bride and groom out for a portrait by their firewall. Yes, Lost Mission even has a wall of fire! On the way back in I snapped a photo of all the guys enjoying their freshly rolled cigars from the cigar station inside the reception. The rest of the night was full of cake, margaritas (there was a machine!) and more dancing. Can’t forget about the Aggie fight song, too! The newlyweds ran out to rose petals being thrown through the air to close out their wedding. Couldn’t have asked for a sweeter night. Usually I would say it ended there, but on the drive home I had to pull over. I have never seen so many stars, ever. I sat outside of my car and just stared up, then realized I had my gear, so of course I had to take one last picture. Hopefully it will help them remember just how beautiful their night was, and I wish them a lifetime of anniversaries to come!

I love this Texas wedding. Everything from the football cake to the gorgeous portrait in the doorway of the church. Lost Mission is such an amazing venue. I love the rose petals being thrown – so classy and different from usual exits.

Thank you! Typically if I’m shooting in my state I’m closer to Austin, but I’m so glad I got to experience wedding photography in Spring Branch! The football groom’s cake was a fun surprise, and I agree about having a rose petal exit! Lost Mission for the win 🙂

Thank you so much! They had such a great group of guests for reception photography, it made capturing the dancing fun! And I have to hand it to Austin Party Band for keeping them so lively. I highly recommend them for any Texas wedding reception music!

The football cake is so awesome, love how they used that to tie into their wedding! Lost Mission wedding venue looks remarkable, and that firewall is so dang cool! Such amazing photos by such a talented wedding photographer.

I appreciate it, Daniel! I was happy to see the groom’s cake was football theme for him… and the Austin Party Band playing the Aggie fight song was a great touch, too! I lit up (pun intended) when I saw that firewall turn on. Made for great wedding portraits, for sure! San Antonio area wedding venue Lost Mission has a lot to offer.

Gorgeous bridal portraits at the beginning the whole wedding is stunning but those first photos really caught your eye. Beautiful lost mission venue. I love that you end with a photo of the Milky Way

And I loved her bridal portraits at the Lost Mission, it was perfect for their theme! The Spanish style wedding chapel was perfectly romantic and her bridal gown played right in.

Gorgeous San Antonio wedding photography! I love this venue and your perspective. Lost Mission looks like the perfect venue for capturing elegant and romantic images. I am absolutely in love with the arched doorway of the chapel and love the shots you captured of the couple in the chapel against the pews. What a beautiful eye! Congratulations to the newlyweds!
