This engagement session just might have been every photographer’s dream!
Thankfully THIS photographer got to capture everything sweet about this engagement session.
Zilker Park is amazing in that there are so many areas to explore for portrait scenery. If you’ve never visited Austin, Texas then please know that this is definitely not just a park! Between climbing the rocks and seeing the Austin skyline, the vast open space of greenery is nothing short of freedom inside the city.
If you’ve ever booked a session with me and told me you have a whole slew of people coming- you might already know my response:
“For the love– please, no.”
Usually adding people to your session ends up meaning more work for me. More explaining why I am doing what I am doing, more saying “no, it’s okay, I’ll fix their hair and clothes if it’s in the shot” and much, MUCH more.
But these two had what seemed more like a team of assistants for me!
By the time we went down to the water the canoe was like something out of Brides of Austin. Better than Pinterest boards. Just perfect. The family had already decorated it so we wouldn’t waste any time.
Guys- the wind was insane! We were all laughing together as Saul took the paddle to keep them even remotely within “frame”. “Frame” being anywhere I could crawl around the banks to get a shot! These are the situations you see a couple at their finest or at their worst. Some couples would shout directions at each other then try to get back into some pose for me.
Not these two.
They laughed together and paddled around making sure not to fall in! That in itself created moments you can’t find on Pinterest boards.
Next was the tent. The family that was there helping already had the next spot ready AFTER asking where it would look best! (Again- photographer’s dream.)
Texas winds couldn’t help taking the tent down and all we were left with was more laughter. All three of us laying on the ground with the tent flying away! And I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way.
We wrapped up with stealing what was left of the sunset… and I am so excited to shoot their wedding this coming week!
Congrats Michelle & Saul! You guys are great together.

Wow!! The boat shots at Zilker Park remind me of the “kiss the girl” scene from Little Mermaid! I love the story you gave them with all of the different sets and going all the way to sunset! What a gorgeous sunset shot too, I love the light shining through the umbrella!
