Stephanie & Ben | A Dallas Engagement

It’s hard to believe that after all the spots I have photographed in Texas, there are still so many left to shoot. Even if I chose to shoot exclusively in Texas for the rest of my days *(we all know I would never do that… but for the sake of this example just go with it) I would still barely scratch the surface of how many new places I could find.

These two got engaged in Dallas, and I met the lovely bride-to-be thanks to a dear Florida friend (you can see who it is in their engagement session here, which was, of course, not in Florida). Already knowing how kind hearted Stephanie was, I was more than happy to say yes when she asked about having their engagement session up in Dallas.

We set the time for the session to start, and I do what I do best. Get there early and walk around the new area until I feel inspired. In this case, I walked around about a mile, and then drove back to one more spot I had seen while driving that I was really hoping would work. Typically, the worst part of having your session out and about in a big city is finding where to park. There are so many restrictions everywhere, zones, meters, apps to download… it can all be a big headache.

So when I saw that both areas I found had relatively easy parking, I felt like it was meant to be.

You tell me! Just look at these beautiful spots:

And if you’re new to my blog, welcome. You can rest assured that I will always say “yes” if you ask to bring your pup along to a shoot. Why would I want to miss out on any of this puppy photo goodness??

The next spot we went to was just as fun. Since the first spot had all of the nature, we went full Dallas skyline view for the next round.

Last few shots had to be with the Jeep. My husband owned a Jeep before and it was such a fun community to be a part of… we don’t get quite the same head nods and Jeep waves now that we drive in his giant truck!

Hope you enjoyed this look back at what went into a Dallas engagement session as a photographer coming from Austin.

Let’s see where I head to next!
