I do believe that a healthy balance of opposites can be a big plus when it comes to love and marriage.
These two have more than just a balance.
They have similar hobbies- both sporting their gi to get their jiu jitsu, and both get into representing their Alma Mater. Just so happens they are opposing schools. (Nothing against you Aggies, but go Longhorns!)
Not many couples can casually mention that they are both into Martial Arts, either. I love getting to know every couple, but with an interest of my own (thanks to my better half) in the UFC, I was all the more excited to meet Lisa and Frank!
And I couldn’t have asked for a classier couple to spend the day with.
Having great style helps so much with photos, and seeing these two show up with their engagement session wardrobe on point and ready to go was a great way to start the morning. The weather had been horrible and the forecast said to expect more horrible Austin weather, but we all agreed to just go for it! I’m so glad we did.
We only used the umbrella to block the sun, and only went inside to change up the look- not to avoid the rain!
And we really did get the best of everything.
From gorgeous outdoor scenery around the UT campus, silhouettes in the Bell Tower staircase, dancing in a field of bubbles (just because we could!), save the date photos, and finally wrapping it up with a surprise set that won’t be revealed until their big day! I am all about bringing personality to each session, and these two brought enough to have me really excited about next Spring. Can’t wait!
What a great engagement shoot! The UT campus and the Bell Tower are such cute locations for engagement photo! Love it!

Engagement photos around Austin are unique every time! Thank you so much. The UT campus is one of my favorite areas since we can always change it up. The Bell Tower makes great photos for day or night portraits so that helps me out! Being an Austin wedding photographer is just too fun!

Amy, these photos are gorgeous. Seriously. The interior backdrops you used on the indoor shots are phenomenal and make me so incredibly jealous. Can I steal this couple for a set of photos of my own? 🙂
Also love the angle you chose with the stairs shot of you looking down on them. That’s great.
You did a fantastic job here. Can’t wait to see the wedding photos down the line!

Thanks so much! They were so great for their engagement session around the UT campus. As an Austin photographer it’s fun to try to press to find new venues to shoot. Engagement photography is a perfect way to take the couple around more then I would get to during wedding photography!

Thanks Andrea! I loved that they had different schools to root for! UT and Texas A&M are such rivals I know they will have friendly competition for the years to come! I think that’s good for a bride and groom 😉 It will also make their wedding photography fun!
